Divination, or shushu 數術 is fundamental to the relationship between humans and the cosmos – it is the way to contact and follow the laws of nature. Health was maintained by being aligned with cosmic patterns and rhythms. Divination, connections between humans and the macrocosm, was essential to Chinese thought, and is still in use today. I will explore a few divinatory schemes and their relation to health & disease.
